What? and Why?

The industry that our group has chosen is logistic. What is logistics?

   

        Logistic industry can be defined as the science of obtaining,  producing and distributing material and products to the correct place and in the correct quantities. In a military sense, where it has a greater use, its meaning also includes the movement of personnel. Logistics includes the process of planning, implementing and controlling procedures for the efficient and effective transportation and storage of goods. This includes services and related information from the point of source to the point of consumption for the purpose of fulfilling and conforming to customer requirements. Besides,  logistics industry implies a broader spectrum and refers to the whole ‘flow’ management. This includes not only the transportation and delivery of goods but also the storage, handling, inventory, packaging and various other aspects.

        The company that we choose is Tiong Nam Logistics Holdings, it is the total logistic solution company. Why? because they offer custom brokage, haulage and transport, warehousing and last mile delivery. In 1975, Tiong Nam started out as a small-scale cargo business handling consolidated cargo and micro-distribution within Peninsular Malaysia. However, in 1978, Tiong Nam began its expansion plan and became an incorporated enterprise. After all the improvement they have made, in 2010 they ventured into Commercial and Industrial Property Development for warehouses and factories and in 2017 their solution to e-commerce logistics, instant, commenced operations. They also opened our Vietnam and China branches, and started our ASEAN cross-border trucking deliveries.
