Tiong Nam aims to win the Frost & Sullivan Best Domestic Logistics Service Provider (Malaysia) award in the following time.
Policy
In case of policies in logistics industry, we need to refer to the Malaysia Ministry of Transport (MOT). MOT responsible for transport including road transport, civil aviation, marine, road safety, port authority, railway assets, maritime, air accident investigation, logistic, maritime safety, shipping, rail transport, airport, airline.
For land transport, logistic company need to compliance the following act:
i) The road transport act 1987 [Act 333]
ii) Malaysian Institute of Road Safety Research Act 2012 (Act 748)
iii) Railways Act 1991 [Act 463].
For maritime transport, the following acts and ordinance included:
i) Ocean Cargo Transport Act 1950 [Act 532]
ii) Federal light dues Act 1953 [Act 240]
iii) Port Authorities Act 1963 [Act 487]
iv) Ports (privatisation) Act 1990 [Act 422]
v) Merchant Shipping Ordinance 1952 [Ord. 70/1952]
For the Domestic Shipping License (DSL), The Maritime Division provides secretariat services to the Domestic Shipping Licensing Board, which approves and issues Domestic Shipping License (DSL). Hence, there are a few vessels that are exempted from DSL requirements which are:
i) Vessel below 15 NRT (Nett Registered Tonnage)
ii) Vessel licensed under section 475 MSO 1952 (licensed boats)
iii) Vessel licensed under the MSO 1960 Sabah
iv) Vessel licensed under the MSO 1960 Sarawak
v) Vessel belonging to or in the employment of the Federal Government or any state or any Port Authority
For the air transport, MOT had adopted the following acts and regulations:
i) Civil Aviation Act 1969 [Act 3]
ii) Carriage by Air Act 1974 [Act 148]
iii) Aviation Offences Act 1984 [Act 307]
iv) Airport And Aviation Services (Operating Company) Act [Act 467]
v) International Interests In Mobile Equipment (Aircraft) Act 2006 [Act 659]
vi) Civil Aviation Regulations 2016
vii) Minister of Transport Directives 2016
